Summary

Roomy (the iPhone app and its Safari extension) collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app makes no network requests. This website uses no cookies and no tracking.

2. The Roomy app and Safari extension

What is stored on your device

To remember your choices, Roomy stores the hostnames of websites you have adjusted (for example “example.com”) together with the options you chose, your default options for new websites, and your language and appearance settings. This information is stored only locally on your iPhone, in an App Group container shared between the app and its extension. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can edit or reset each website in the app; deleting the app removes all of this data.

Website access permission

Safari asks you to allow website access for the extension. Roomy needs this permission solely to change how pages are displayed (for example to let a page use the full width of the screen, to hide fixed bars while you read, or to widen narrow text columns). To do this, it looks at the layout of the page (such as the size and position of elements) on your device only. The extension does not store, collect or transmit page content, form inputs or your browsing history; the only thing it saves is the website's address (host name) for the choices you make, locally on your iPhone.

Reporting a website. If you choose "Report a problem with this website", Roomy opens your own mail app with a pre-filled message containing the website's host name, your Roomy options and the app and iOS versions. Nothing is sent unless you send that e-mail yourself. We use such e-mails only to answer you and to improve Roomy, and delete them when they are no longer needed.

No network, no third parties

Neither the app nor the extension contacts any server. No third-party SDKs, analytics or advertising frameworks are included. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; we do not receive your payment details.

3. This website

Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you visit the site, Vercel automatically processes technical access data (IP address, date and time of the request, requested page, browser user agent, referrer) in server logs. This is necessary to deliver the website securely and to prevent abuse. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website). Vercel retains these logs for a limited period (typically no longer than 30 days) and then deletes them.

Transfer to a third country

Vercel Inc. is based in the USA. The transfer is based on the EU adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (since July 10, 2023), under which Vercel is certified, and additionally on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Cookies and tracking

This website uses no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels and loads no third-party resources such as external fonts or scripts. A cookie banner is therefore not required.

Contact by email

If you email us, we process your email address and message only to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them when the request is resolved, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

4. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing (Art. 21). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). To exercise your rights, contact us using the details above.

5. Automated decision-making

No automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

6. Children

Roomy is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no data, it collects no data from children either.

We may update this policy if the app or website changes. The current version is always available on this page.
